**Alerts are now Automations**

If you use Alerts, you’ll notice a new name in the navigation bar. Goals & Alerts is now [Goals & Automations](https://www.rescuetime.com/goals?goal_type=focus), and the Alerts tab is now the Automations tab.

The bigger change is that automations are no longer separate from goals. Every goal now has automation options with two triggers: **when it’s at risk** , which fires while you still have time to do something about it, and **when you hit it**. Each one can start a Focus Session, open a web page, notify you on desktop, mobile, or email, and display a custom message.

Nothing you’ve already created has changed. Your existing alerts are renamed automations now, but have the same thresholds and actions. If you’d like to add an automation to an existing goal, click the edit icon on the goal card to get started.
