I’m having an issue with the recategorization of “Category: Uncategorized” “Productivity level: Neutral” activities. If I attempt to recategorize them using “Edit activity” to “Category: X” (I’ve used numerous categories and subcategories, but not all of them), “Productivity level: Neutral” they revert to uncategorized/neutral.
Effectively, if I want to recategorize a novel activity, neutral is unavailable to me, which is a bit frustrating.
Hi @mildred_holmes! We have knowledge based articles to help you with the app here.
You’re right, “Not everyone works a 9-5 or even straight 8 job.” We know not all our users work on a set schedule and we’re working to figure out how to accommodate this group. It continues to be discussed among our team on how to cater to this flexible schedule. This is absolutely on our radar.
For now, since your schedule is non-routine, you could set your work schedule to “All day” or keep it at your current routine and change it up when your publishing phase changes.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for any help, which you have been doing. Thank you!
No matter what I do, and how many times I “sign in” with through the browser connect (allowing it to launch the desktop app) my windows desktop app always is on this screen:
The “Begin Session” button is broken after I start a focus session. I’m finding a new bug in a core workflow basically every time I use the app…frustrated.
Hi @joe_reich! We are looking into this known issue actually. We found it doesn’t work between 12 AM - 3 AM EST. Did it not work during that time for you too? We’re thinking it may be the time zone used for the start of day calculation. We’ll reach back out when we have a solution. Appreciate your patience.
Hi @joe_reich please restart RescueTime and see if this fixes the issue. If not then please email us at help@rescuetime.com so we can look into it further.

It fixes it in the short term, but it comes back eventually - not sure what the trigger is.
Hi @joe_reich, the “Skip this” link shouldn’t show up at the top. Were you able to uninstall/reinstall RescueTime to see if it resolves some of the issues you’re experiencing?
