What's in your feature wishlist?

I really want to split the browser into sub-activities as a lot of my focus work is in the browser. I’m using Firefox Developer Edition

Automatically Adding Labelled Focus Sessions to Calendar:
It would be really helpful if RescueTime is able to automatically add events to Google Calendar after a Focus Session, possibly using the existing RescueTime calendar which current adds the daily summaries.

This will help with populating the calendar, and personally, it will really motivate me to take advantage of Focus Sessions more, as I would be able to get a better visual representation of what I have accomplished and focused on at certain times of day, amongst my other calendar events.

It would be even more ideal if the feature automatically names the events based on what was inputted to the “What are you focusing on this session?” question (asked when creating a Focus Session).

Many thanks, loving RescueTime so far

Hi @jack_mackenzie. Please install the RescueTime Firefox extension here. This should help!

Hi @chernukha.ivan, could you please reach out to our support at help@rescuetime.com so we can investigate?

@ely_eastman check out the latest update to the iOS here

Hi @Tokiboyo, thanks for your feedback! You can disable the distraction alerts if this becomes a um…distraction. You can disable the “Distraction Alert” on your Alerts/Emails page.

@kyle check out the new features on the iOS

Hi @bartosz check out the latest features on the iOS app here.

Normally break time is outside the working hours meaning I’d have 9 hours schedule from which 1 hour is break time but I have no interest in tracking break time, only the hours actually worked.
Having personal time and break time mixed up with work time makes it very confusing because my only goal is to track how much actual TOTAL work time I’ve completed daily. Instead I get it all split into pieces and I have to do the math.

I’m trying now a workaround which is increasing my work week hours to compensate for the unwanted “break time”. My goal is to complete 8 hours of TOTAL work no matter if its focus or not focus work… and not including any other time doing anything else other than work.

I’ve tried your first method of not checking the box in config as well as your new suggestion of removing the extension altogether but I’m still just seeing Arc with no website details. I’m on the latest version on Mac. Is there anything else I need to do to get this working?

I don’t imagine I am that much of an outlier, but maybe in this community. Are there plans for a Teams integration like Slack and other project management apps? I know I can use Zapier, but native would also be better.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi @vpark, interesting…could you send us an email at help@rescuetime.com so we can investigate? Thanks!

Hi @steve! If you have beta testing enabled in your product settings page, then you should see a Slack, Asana and Trello integration in beta right now.

I’m really happy to see the slack integration, came upon it by happenstance, it was sorely needed.

Are there any plans for deeper integration, such as setting the profile as Away, and pausing notification when I’m outside of working hours?

Or some fun one, like sharing the playlist I’m listening to while in focus mode?

Hi @yousuf_ali! Thanks for your feedback! The integration is currently in beta. Once live which will probably be some time in the fall. We will move to phase II. We’re definitely open to ideas on how to make it better.

It will be great if I can change the sound of the focus session timer. Even better if I could change other notification sounds, too.

I tend to have hyperfocus (often on something I shouldn’t be focusing on) and I can hardly ever notice the gentle and short notification sound.

Integration with Microsoft Teams - at the moment the “join meeting” only works with google calendar and zoom? but not with Teams meetings.

I love the feature that auto-starts my Spotify playlist when I start a focus session.

Feature request: the playlist should stop playing when I stop focusing, or maybe when the session is over. That way I build a really strong association between focusing and the music playing.

I would like to be able to resize the RescueTime Assistant. I enjoy using the Assistant timer during my focus sessions, but the window is too large. I am a MS Windows 11 user.

A tip for MS Windows users: Installing the PowerToys software, you can pin the RescueTime Assistant window
