What's in your feature wishlist?

I would LOVE a simple task list that I can associate focus sessions with, rather than just a calendar. As a mid-level software developer my calendar is rather empty but my personal task list is rather huge. On that note, an integration with JIRA or something is probably a no go since my enterprise blocks most integrations like that. A manually entered simple task list I can use the pomodoro method with associated with my RescueTime account would be amazing.

Apple Music integration

Hi @kyle! You can add a focus task to your Focus Session and this will show on your daily summary at the end of the day on your Assistant and timeline highlight in your Timesheets AI (beta).

hmm, okay, I can see how I can fit that into my workflow. A task list I can reference and check tasks as complete or removed would be ideal though. Thanks for the heads up on that feature.

I’d like it to be possible to add a “holiday” to my calendar. For example, a typical Monday would be a workday, but if I set it as a “holiday,” it would be a recharge day. This could be added to my calendar using a hashtag, like a meeting.

I use Reclaim to manage three corporate calendars and my personal one. It copies events from one calendar to another, but doesn’t include invitees. This is fantastic for blocking availability between all my calendars.

RescueTime is limited in that it only read from one calendar. It believes these replicated meetings are focus times, and tries to schedule focus time over meetings that are copied from my corporate calendars. This is worse than useless. I would like a setting where if there’s a meeting, then RT does not try to schedule focus time or assume that time can be used for anything other than the meeting.

Hi RescueTime team,

I recently switched from RescueTime Classic to the new version. The new UI is nice and I like the added emphasis on “Focus Time” rather than “Very Productive, Productive, Neutral, Distracting, Very Distracting” task categorization.

One thing I miss from RescueTime Classic is the ability to look at historical overview by year, month, week or day. Currently in the new RescueTime UI, when I go to the “Activities” or “Overview” menu at the top of the page, I am only able to select historical data from a drop-down at the top right with just 4 options:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days

But I don’t see any option to view data from, say, Oct 11 2022 or yearly data from 2015 (I’ve been an RT Premium subscriber for over 10 years btw). I do GTD-style weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reviews so it would be great to be able to view historical activity data for these time frames.
I guess one workaround might be to switch back to the RescueTime Classic UI when I do these reviews, but since “New RescueTime” is the future, I would prefer if I could do everything from the new UI.

Thanks,
PJ

Hi @jun1, thanks for your feedback! We plan to offer more options in the date picker. We don’t have a launch date yet but this is on our roadmap.

How to reset apps usage time at a customized time?
I’d like to restrict my entertainment apps uage durating the day time, so I’d like set the resetting time at 6PM instead of 12AM.
Is it possible for me to do that on RescueTime?

@allenlinli not at the moment but thanks for the request. This is now a feature request.

Thank you for noticing the request. Appreciate it.
May I have the link of this feature request so I can follow it? Thank you.

Hi @allenlinli, this is a great place for feature requests as well as here. Thanks for your help!

@DrFranco it’s ready: Vacation Mode - RescueTime =)

Hey, wanted to say I love the AI timesheet feature and the new reporting options under the dropdown box are exciting. But I have a request for future updates on the timesheet reports.

Could you possibly set up a way of being able to include archived project data in the report/csv/excel download? My previous data is in the old report download format which is incompatible with this new format and wanted to update, get a new report. But I had to unarchive all of the old projects, create the new filter for all time, download the report and then go back and archive the old projects again.

Would be nice to not have to do that, but no overall complaints or dissatisfaction. I had a laugh the other day at work when I had to tell some managers that “what I do on a daily basis is so complicated and variable, I am even having trouble teaching an openAI based timesheet exactly what I do”.

Hi! Thanks for the Trello integration. Would it be possible to organize cards by list and board on RescueTime?

Similar to @jun1 's comment above, it would be great to be able to pick a pecific start date and end date for the summary analytics. If I want to see how much I’ve worked this calendar month, for example, (since Jan 1), it’s not possible because the “Overview” page just brings you back 30 days, to mid-December, when I was on break. So the data is off.

I really like using RescueTime to track how long I’ve spent focusing on something, but would really like to be able to track my progress toward a 40-hour week for all of my time spent on work (not just focus work). I like the “Activities” page and spend a lot of time there, but it would be nice to see a simple summary sentence like “You’ve worked 33 hours this week,” instead of me having to add up my meeting time, focus work time, etc. in my head.

Also, it’s annoying that we can’t click back to previous weeks in the “Activities” section - we can only see the summary data for that month. Same with the “Overview” section.

Lastly, I get that storing every single webpage visit would be a lot, but it should be possible to download a summary of my historical data (total hours of focus work, total hours of other work, hours in meetings - all per day).

I have a lot of offline work in my calendar (I teach). It would be nice to have a hashtag for this type of work too.
